今週分 노래를 紹介합니다.

當曲은 Eddy ARNOLDS (1918~2008)가 1960년에 發表한 country music 입니다. 美國에서는 country music 이 hillbilly(村놈) song 이라고 卑下(비하)해서 불리기도 하는데 Eddy ARNOLDS와 Jim REEVES는 都市的 洗煉味가 加味된 Nashville (美國 Tennessee 州에 있는 country music의 本據地인 都市) sound 라는 pop music化된 country music 을 만들었다고 합니다. 當曲도 이런 genre에 屬하는데 歌詞에 나오는 약간의 誇張(과장)된 求愛 表現(I’d rather die before this day ends)이 재미있읍니다. 蛇足입니다만 健康한 音樂이 있는 나라는 繁盛하고 그렇지 못한 나라는 衰退한다고 저 個人的으로 생각합니다.
