We tend to think that there are more pains than pleasures in our life. But this narrative gospel song makes us comprehend that our Lord is with us at these times of pains.

One night a man had a dream
어느 날 밤에 한 사람이 꿈을 꾸었는데
And he dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord
그는 自身이 주님과 함께 海邊을 걷고 있었네
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life
하늘을 가로질러 ‘그의 人生의(or 그가 살아왔던)’ 場面들이 번쩍였네
For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand
그 人生 場面마다 그는 모래밭에 2雙의 발자국을 보았네
One belonged to him and the other to the Lord
한 雙은 그의 것이었고 나머지 한 雙은 주님의 것이었네
When the last scene of his life flashed before him
그 人生의 마지막 場面이 그 앞에 번쩍였을 때
He looked back at the footprints in the sand
그는 모래밭에 있는 발자국들을 뒤돌아 보았고
And noticed that many times along the path of his life
There was only one set of footprints
많은 경우 그가 살아왔던 人生길을 따라 새겨진 발자국은
한 雙뿐이라는 것을 느꼈네
He also noticed that this seemed to happen
At the very lowest and saddest times of his life
그는 또한 이것이 그의 人生이 아주 어렵고 슬펐을 때 일어나는 것 같다고 느꼈네
This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it
이것은 그를 정말로 괴롭혀서 그는 주님께 이것에 關하여 여쭈어 보았네
Lord, You said that once I decided to follow You
주님, 주님께서는 제가 주님을 따르기로 決心만 하면
You would walk with me all the way but I have noticed
주님께서는 저와 늘 同行하신다고 하셨는데 제가 느낀 바로는
That in the most troublesome times in my life
제 人生에서 가장 괴로운 때에
There are only one set of foot prints

I don't understand why when I needed You the most
You would leave me
제가 주님을 가장 必要로 할 때 주님께서 어째서 저를 떠나시는지를 理解가 되지 않아요
