[The Boxer] 

이 노래는 Paul Simon이 作詞/曲했고 Simon & Garfunkel이 1969년에 發表했읍니다. 아름다운 duet harmony도 壓卷이며 노랫말 內容이 Paul Simon의 自傳的 이야기라고 어떤 interview에서 本人이 밝힌바 있습니다. 물론 그가 實際로 拳鬪選手는 아니었으므로 歌詞 속의 boxer는 世上살이를 하면서 傷處를 받아왔던 自身의 그동안의 處地가 投影된 象徵일 것 같습니다. 少年이 成長하면서 겪었던 여러가지 苦痛들은 程度의 差異는 있겠지만 人間 모두에게 共通的인 것들이라 共感을 넘어서 가슴이 아리기도 합니다.

(拳鬪) ring 안에는 “拳鬪選手(또는 boxer)”이자 職業 싸움꾼인 사람이 서 있고 그가 憤怒와 羞恥心(수치심)에서 “나는 (이 ring을) 떠날꺼야, 떠난다니까!”라고 외칠 때까지 그 自身을 때려눕혔거나 强打한 모든 (拳鬪) glove와 關聯되는 “싸움(또는 match)”들을 記憶하고 있으나,
